Dr. Robert L. Kane

Robert L, Kane, Ph.D. ABPP-CN is a clinical neuropsychologist board certified by the American Board of Professional Psychology/American Board of Clinical Neuropsychology. He received his Ph.D. from Texas Tech University. He completed an internship in clinical psychology at the Waco VA Medical Center and received specialized postdoctoral training in neuropsychology at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center under Dr. Oscar Parsons. Dr. Kane has extensive clinical experience assessing adults with a wide range of neurological disorders and brain injury. Previously he directed neuropsychology assessment clinics at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in East Orange, New Jersey; the VA Maryland Health Care System; and the department of psychiatry at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center. He served as faculty for the neuropsychology postdoctoral training program at the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center and directed postdoctoral training programs at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center and the VA Maryland Health Care System. Dr. Kane served as the Associate Director for Communications (Telemedicine) at the VA East Coast Multiple Sclerosis Center of Excellence. He also served as the program manager for the DoD Neurocognitive Assessment Tool Program at the Defense and Veterans Brain Injury Center and as a senior research scientist at the US Army Telemedicine and Advanced Technology Research Center where he managed the Parkinson’s disease research program. He is a consultant to Medical Operations, NASA Johnson Space Center. In addition to private practice, Dr. Kane is adjunct associate professor in the departments of Neurology at Georgetown University and the University of Maryland Schools of Medicine. Dr. Kane has published 64 articles in peer-reviewed journals and has authored six book chapters. He has numerous abstracts and presentations at national and international professional meetings. Dr. Kane serves as a reviewer Dr. Kane is a member of the American Academy of Clinical Neuropsychology, American Academy of Neurology, the American Psychological Association, and the International Neuropsychological Society. He is a fellow of the National Academy of Neuropsychology, and an Associate Fellow of the Aerospace Medical Association.
