Dr. Robert L. Kane

Robert L. Kane, PhD, ABPP-CN, is a board-certified clinical neuropsychologist specializing in
neurocognitive assessment of neurological disorders and in aerospace neuropsychology. He earned his PhD from Texas Tech University, completed a clinical psychology internship at theVA Medical Center in Waco, Texas, and pursued postdoctoral training in neuropsychology at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. Dr. Kane has extensive experience evaluating adults with neurological conditions and brain injuries and he performs neurocognitive evaluations for FAA medical certification. He was instrumental in the development of the computer-based NASA Spaceflight Cognitive. Assessment Tool. He served as a Highly Qualified Expert for the U.S. Army Intelligence and Security Command. Previously, he directed neuropsychology assessment clinics at the VA

Medical Center in East Orange, NJ; the VA Maryland Healthcare System; and the University of Massachusetts Medical Center’s Department of Psychiatry. His academic contributions include directing postdoctoral neuropsychology training programs at multiple institutions and serving on the faculty at various medical schools. He has held leadership roles such as Associate Director for Communications at the VA East Coast Multiple Sclerosis Center of Excellence and program manager for the DoD Neurocognitive Assessment Program at the Defense and Veterans Brain Injury Center. As a Senior Research Scientist at the U.S. Army Telemedicine and Advanced Technology Research Center, he managed the neuroscience research and Parkinson’s Disease Research Programs. Dr. Kane has published. numerous peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, and abstracts. He coedited The Role of Technology in Clinical Neuropsychology. A fellow of the National Academy of Neuropsychology and Associate Fellow in the Aerospace Medical Association, he is actively involved in research and journal reviews and collaborates with the Georgetown University Memory Disorders Program
